See You at 175

For the last couple of weeks, or perhaps ‘a couple of months’ is a more appropriate statement, I have definitely been slacking with the gym time. For a bit of history, I decided to make my new years resolution for 2006 one that seemed achievable as long as I was consistent and determined. I was coming from a measly 142-145 pounds and desperately wanted to gain 10 pounds by the end of the year. I eventually managed to do so with the help of a lot of protein shakes and a bottle of Creatine. At one point I was ecstatic to see the scales hit 163 pounds. And all I knew was that I wanted to push myself further.

I think at the beginning of 2007, I informally told myself that I wanted to go ahead and cross the 175 pound barrier, which is not a small amount by any means and seemed dubious in it’s feasibility (I’ve since shrunk back to 155). And among all the moving, living the LA life, business traveling (read: not eating well), I somehow lost my way and haven’t been nearly as consistent as I need to be to reach my goals.

So from here on out, I’m going to do my due diligence to get my ass to the gym, drink protein shakes day and night, eat well, and run like all the cool kids along The Strand! It’s a big long dedicated paved walkway all along the beach and the scenery really has no equal as i discovered today. So… why the hell not use it?
