Halloween 2006

It’s October again and it’s Halloween time. It’s time for all sophisticated, intelligent, well-mannered young professionals to dress up as their favorite fantasy characters and act like complete morons.

I think everyone remembers all crazy last year was, you can check out the pictures I took in the picture gallery. But this year was a little different, we started off with coordinating all of our costumes and eventually bought Flintstones costumes. I got the grown up version of Bamm-Bamm, Betty and Barney’s son. Naturally, I wanted to take a picture with my “Dad”.

After hitting up 4 places in 2 nights, and seeing notable costumes including: cross-dressers, anime characters, and brokeback cowboys, it’s time to get some shut-eye before starting another dreaded week at work.

The Awesome and The Moronic

I think I found my calling in life. As I’m sitting at work on this fine Sunday afternoon, I can’t seem to get myself motivated to finish up my tasks so instead I do the next best thing: surf the web. And I apparently have a great talent for finding awesome videos on the internet. This must by my true calling, maybe someday I can actually make money for surfing the internet one day. And when our human species eventually evolves in 5000 years time, shedding our needs for legs/arms/bodies because we’re sitting in front of a computer all day long, you can thank yours truely for providing such glorious content.

In Case You Missed It

Biggest brawl I’ve ever seen in college football. There’s scenes of players kicking others in the head, swing punches into the face, clubbing others with their own helmets. CRAZY.

Entertaining as hell with 13 players ejected.

A Bit of Humor

A modest proposal for an immodest proposition

I’d have to admit that at first I thought this was an entirely racist article, but after you read into a bit more, you’ll find its true meaning.

The article brings up some good points which debunk the necessity for affirmative action, and also sheds light on some of the UC Regeants’ racist and diabolical admission criteria: good grades and academics.

Unfortunately, because the article was directed at Asian-Americans, it included stereotypes that seemed a bit offensive at first. The Daily Bruin probably should have let an Asian-American writer deliver the article, but then again maybe they didn’t have one at the time. Lets face it, there aren’t many Ed Chiao’s to go around. By the way, Happy Birthday Ed Chiao.

Also, for anyone who noticed, I’ve changed a couple things on this blog. The name’s been changed back to just Final8.com, and I’ve added a section for my del.icio.us links, and also the oh-so-hip tag cloud.

Enjoy

Brazilians are Fun

It was my coworker’s birthday this past weekend, and I was all game once I heard that my coworker was bringing her Brazilian girl friends. We started off at Mangarosa, a fusion Italian/Brazilian restaurant in San Francisco. I thought my pork chop was great, but of course my Brazilian coworker didn’t approve of the food: not authentic Brazil. $30 will still get you a huge platter of beef though, enough to feed two, just prepare to get the salt and pepper shakers out.

I also tried a new drink called Caipirinha, made of lime juice, sugar, and cachaça (a Brazilian liquor). I’d say it’s close to a margarita, but with much more flavor and a lot less tequilla. At $10 a pop, it’ll probably cost a bunch to get drunk off of this stuff though.

But with or without liquor, Brazilians are mad fun. During dinner, there was a bunch of singing, clapping, and table pounding. At Bubble Lounge, everyone was dancing and having a good time, even though no one had alcohol and the music was… questionable. That’s a huge difference compared to most Asians who need to have 3-4 shots before they can even approach the dance floor.

Less standing, more dancing!
