I’ve Been Called Many Things
I finally got a chance to upgrade my web services in the past weeks, and instead of only 300mb of space, I now have 1.6gigs of space. Mostly this means I don’t have to rely on Flickr or Imagestation for picture storage anymore. Don’t know if you noticed, but I’ve uploaded a few recent photo albums up at Photo Gallery. You can also access that page from the link on the right hand side.
Independence weekend was great since most of Lockheed got a 5 day weekend that started on our off-Friday that week. I have never eaten so much BBQ in my life in the past few weeks (except for maybe last year at David’s in LA), which is great, since it’s helping me pack on the pounds.
Just yesterday, my coworkers went out to Los Gatos to celebrate our promotions and hit up 180 Lounge and Mountain Charley’s. Now, I’ve been called many things… but what happened at Mount Charley’s just blew my mind. All night long, I was hanging out with my buddies, getting drinks, and of course, getting rejected by white girls (come on, no big surprise there). When the end of the night rolled by, Francis met a group of three asian girls and started chatting it up. As soon as he introduces them to me, one of the chicks starts yelling out to me: “YOU’RE A SELL-OUT!”
wtf.
What? Just because I’m at a predominately white bar in Los Gatos, that makes me a sell-out? I didn’t even do anything, but according to the three asian girls, I danced and talked to not only white girls, but latino chicks as well! Man, I like their version of my night better than my own version, it actually made me sound cool! This continued on for a good while in the club AND outside the club. So WTF ‘MATE? I can’t go to asian bars without being called sterotypical, and I can’t go to white bars without being called a sell-out?
No love for Jay.
