False Marketing

Dr. Mr. or Mrs. Element, Ascension, Absolut, and whatever promoter you are,

I came to your party on 5/20/2006 expecting over 1000 people in your nice venue of 1015 Folsom, where I’ve heard that a fatal shooting took place in past months.

Undaunted, I was intrigued by your claims and by the hopes of meeting intellegent and decent human beings that I might have carried on a conversation with; however, to my astonishment, you were about 800 people short of 1000+. Unfortunately the 800 people missing where probably also the intellegent ones.

The majority of the people you attracted have also been living in some type of bubble of sorts, you might want to look into that. I guess I’m only saying this because people thought my filipino friends were half-black, but at the same time, walking around the edifice reminded me of a high-school dance with the clickish circles of dancing with the song selections of Paperboy’s Ditty and New Order’s Bizzare Love Triangle. I whole-heartedly believed that the next few songs will turn to Twist and Shout and perhaps YMCA, and oh yes, throw in a couple of line-dance songs and/or the Macarena just for good measure.

I guess what put me over the edge was when I saw a group of kids at the bar being carded, and then instantly replying with “Umm.. I’ll be right back” and then running away.

Props to your spectacular party, I give you the one-fingered salute to you kind Sirs,
Jay
