A Good Day To Ride

Can’t really ask for better weather than this weekend, so I hit Highway 9 for the first time this year. I’m always a bit nervous when I get up there, especially for the first time in months, so I took it at the speed limit for a good while until I felt comfortable enough to go faster. Plus there must have been a million cops out giving speeding tickets.

My whole trip started from Saratoga at Point A, then I headed up to the four corners at Point B. Came back down to Point A and wasn’t satisfied so I decided to for round two. I head up again, but this time I go all the way to Alice’s at Point C and met some nice older cruiser riders. They told me about their 2000+ mile trips to Arizona and Nevada and it left me wanting to buy a big ol’ chopper; except I’d look like such a tool riding a flat six.

Coming back from Alices to Saratoga, I got stuck between couple of pretty decent sport bike riders and looking at them drag knees around corners really got me going. I took a couple turns around 40-45 mph leaning as hard as I could and it felt real good to finally use most of my tires. I’ll post some pictures of my remaining chickenstrips later.

All in all: 65 miles of riding, finally past 64,000 miles on the odometer, gaining more experience, and an ass full of hurt from the long ride. (I know it’s not that long, but riding a sport bike is tiring)

edit:

Dude, so I noticed a guy taking pictures on the side of the road today, and low-and-behold, I find my own pictures on South Bay Riders Forum. First pictures I’ve ever seen of myself in action, what a poser!
