False Marketing

Dr. Mr. or Mrs. Element, Ascension, Absolut, and whatever promoter you are,

I came to your party on 5/20/2006 expecting over 1000 people in your nice venue of 1015 Folsom, where I’ve heard that a fatal shooting took place in past months.

Undaunted, I was intrigued by your claims and by the hopes of meeting intellegent and decent human beings that I might have carried on a conversation with; however, to my astonishment, you were about 800 people short of 1000+. Unfortunately the 800 people missing where probably also the intellegent ones.

The majority of the people you attracted have also been living in some type of bubble of sorts, you might want to look into that. I guess I’m only saying this because people thought my filipino friends were half-black, but at the same time, walking around the edifice reminded me of a high-school dance with the clickish circles of dancing with the song selections of Paperboy’s Ditty and New Order’s Bizzare Love Triangle. I whole-heartedly believed that the next few songs will turn to Twist and Shout and perhaps YMCA, and oh yes, throw in a couple of line-dance songs and/or the Macarena just for good measure.

I guess what put me over the edge was when I saw a group of kids at the bar being carded, and then instantly replying with “Umm.. I’ll be right back” and then running away.

Props to your spectacular party, I give you the one-fingered salute to you kind Sirs,
Jay

Motivation

Motivation is when some random guy you ask for a spot at the gym says to you “I think this might be a little too heavy for you…”

teh suck!

It’s Like As If I’m Rich

I’ve been spending money like as if i were rich. But I’m not. So next time you see me take out my credit card for a stupid purchase, put on a pair of steel toed boots and give me a good swift kick in my ass.

No more spending until next month!

First off, here’s a shirt that I’ve been looking to get for a while now:

More Cowbell

More Cowbell T-shirt
Next, there’s a new blazer in town. It meets it’s older sibling, a silver Kenneth Cole blazer bought for $40 at Macy’s a few weeks ago:

Banana Republic Blazer

Lastly, I’ve been working out this deal with Freddy since the trip to NY last month.

Spiffy! now I’m broke!

Also, 2 1/2 years of work so far, almost finally done:

A Good Day To Ride

Can’t really ask for better weather than this weekend, so I hit Highway 9 for the first time this year. I’m always a bit nervous when I get up there, especially for the first time in months, so I took it at the speed limit for a good while until I felt comfortable enough to go faster. Plus there must have been a million cops out giving speeding tickets.

My whole trip started from Saratoga at Point A, then I headed up to the four corners at Point B. Came back down to Point A and wasn’t satisfied so I decided to for round two. I head up again, but this time I go all the way to Alice’s at Point C and met some nice older cruiser riders. They told me about their 2000+ mile trips to Arizona and Nevada and it left me wanting to buy a big ol’ chopper; except I’d look like such a tool riding a flat six.

Coming back from Alices to Saratoga, I got stuck between couple of pretty decent sport bike riders and looking at them drag knees around corners really got me going. I took a couple turns around 40-45 mph leaning as hard as I could and it felt real good to finally use most of my tires. I’ll post some pictures of my remaining chickenstrips later.

All in all: 65 miles of riding, finally past 64,000 miles on the odometer, gaining more experience, and an ass full of hurt from the long ride. (I know it’s not that long, but riding a sport bike is tiring)

edit:

Dude, so I noticed a guy taking pictures on the side of the road today, and low-and-behold, I find my own pictures on South Bay Riders Forum. First pictures I’ve ever seen of myself in action, what a poser!
